LOS ANGELES, CA – Actress Christina Applegate is currently hospitalized in Los Angeles, TMZ has learned. She was admitted in late March 2026, though the exact reason for her stay has not been disclosed.
The 54-year-old star, known for her iconic roles in Married… with Children and Dead to Me, has been open about her long-term health struggles. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in June 2021 and has spoken candidly about how the progressive neurological disease affects her daily life.
A representative for Applegate told TMZ there is “no comment” on whether she is in the hospital or details of any medical treatments. The rep added: “She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast.”
Applegate released her memoir You With the Sad Eyes last month. In the book, she describes the realities of living with MS, writing: “When I wake up, I often can’t get my arm to move far enough to grab the cup of water by my bed or my phone from its charger.” She also notes that the illness makes her prone to infections, often sending her to the emergency room.
The hospitalization news comes shortly after a March 31 announcement that Applegate’s popular podcast MeSsy, co-hosted with fellow MS patient Jamie-Lynn Sigler, would go on a brief hiatus while both hosts are on book tours.
Applegate has continued to inspire fans with her resilience and transparency about her health journey. Supporters have flooded social media with messages of love, prayers, and well-wishes following the TMZ report.
