SEREMBAN July 17, 2026 — Perikatan Nasional (PN) has officially announced its candidates for the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election (PRN), with coalition chairman Datuk Seri Ir. Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar expressing confidence in the quality of the slate.
In a post on X early Friday morning, Dr. Ahmad Samsuri said the candidate declaration ceremony held the previous night had “revealed the faces” of those who will contest on the PN ticket.
“Alhamdulillah, last night’s Perikatan Nasional Candidate Declaration Ceremony for the Negeri Sembilan State Election has revealed the faces who will be contesting representing Perikatan Nasional,” he wrote.
He described the candidates as individuals of integrity and capability.
“Insha-Allah, the candidates we are offering are candidates of integrity and capability,” Dr. Ahmad Samsuri stated.
The Terengganu Menteri Besar also prayed for a smooth campaign process and urged voters to support PN.
“May all matters be eased from the start of the campaign until polling day. Vote for Perikatan Nasional for the harmony of Negeri Sembilan and Malaysia in general,” he added.
The announcement comes just one day before nomination day on July 18, with polling scheduled for August 1, 2026. All 36 seats in the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly are up for grabs.
Photographs shared alongside the post showed PN leaders and supporters at the event, including group photos, scenes from a formal ceremony, and candidates receiving what appeared to be official documents or certificates.
PN’s move follows Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) earlier announcement of its full candidate list on July 14. Barisan Nasional (BN) is also expected to finalise and reveal its candidates soon.
The 2026 Negeri Sembilan election is viewed as an important political contest ahead of the next general election.
