KUALA LUMPUR 18 Oct 2026 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has congratulated National Songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza on her performance at the Konsert Tradisional Gema Bumantara, which drew about 63,000 people to the TM National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Saturday night despite heavy rain.
In a social media post on Sunday, Anwar said it was a pleasure to watch the show, which he described as a beautiful celebration of the rich artistic heritage of the Nusantara. He praised both the singer and her fans for staying until the end of the performance.
“Despite the rain, everyone in attendance stayed until the end of the performance. Bravo, Datuk Seri Siti, and bravo to her dedicated fans. Congratulations to Datuk Seri Siti and the entire production team for delivering such an exceptional and soulful performance,” he wrote.
Anwar added that arts and culture remain close to the hearts of Malaysians and must be preserved so that younger generations can continue to enjoy and appreciate the country’s heritage. “We will continue to drive the nation’s progress while safeguarding our cultural roots and national identity,” he said.
Anwar attended the concert wearing a rain poncho and was seated alongside Siti’s husband, Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa. During the show, Siti acknowledged the Prime Minister’s presence from the stage and thanked him for attending despite his official schedule.
Organised by SN Legacy, the roughly three-hour concert featured more than 30 traditional and classic Malay songs, accompanied by elements of zapin dance, wayang kulit and heritage costumes. Guest artistes included Noraniza Idris, who reunited with Siti for a performance of their hit “Hati Kama,” as well as Haziq Rosebi and Indonesian singers Lesti Kejora and King Nassar.
