PUTRAJAYA April 26, 2026 – The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) has announced the approval of 141 projects under the Flood Mitigation Plan (Rancangan Tebatan Banjir – RTB) and urban drainage initiatives for implementation this year.
The projects form part of the First Rolling Plan (RP1) of the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMKe-13). According to PETRA, the strategic initiative is designed to protect Malaysian residents from the risks and impacts of flooding while ensuring the development of sustainable and resilient infrastructure.
The announcement, posted today on PETRA’s official X account, aligns with the government’s Madani Economy framework under the tagline Rancakkan MADANI. It emphasises long-term efforts to build climate-resilient water infrastructure across the nation.

The projects were first referenced during parliamentary sessions in the Dewan Rakyat on 29 October 2025.
This latest update reinforces the government’s ongoing commitment to flood mitigation as part of broader national strategies to address recurring flood risks and enhance community safety.
