KUALA PILAH July 30, 2026 – Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail joined the final stretch of campaigning for Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Mohd Kamarul Arifin Mohd Wafa in the N.16 Seri Menanti state seat on Thursday, focusing on door-to-door visits to elderly residents and those facing health challenges.
In a post on X early Friday, the Bandar Tun Razak MP and wife of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said she accompanied the candidate on visits to five homes in Kampong Tanjong Ipoh.
“The campaign work started with visiting residents in five houses in Kampong Tanjong Ipoh consisting of elderly citizens and those facing health problems,” she wrote. “In every visit, we had the opportunity to ask about their well-being, listen to their conditions and needs, besides delivering words of encouragement to family members who are caring for and managing their loved ones.”
Dr Wan Azizah expressed hope that those facing health difficulties would recover, have their affairs eased, and be given strength for daily life. She also met and encouraged the local PH campaign machinery for the Seri Menanti constituency, expressing confidence that their efforts would benefit the community.
She ended her post with a call of “Ayuh Seri Menanti, Undi HARAPAN” alongside the hashtags #KekalHARAPAN and #UndiHARAPAN.
The visits form part of PH’s grassroots outreach in the closing days of the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election campaign period, which ends at 11.59pm on Friday. Polling takes place on Saturday, 1 August 2026.
Seri Menanti is a three-cornered contest. Mohd Kamarul Arifin, a 46-year-old lawyer and political secretary known for pro bono work assisting lower-income residents, is facing Barisan Nasional’s incumbent Muhammad Sufian Maradzi and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s Datuk Seri Megat D. Shahriman Zaharudin.
Dr Wan Azizah’s appearance continues her recent series of campaign activities in Negeri Sembilan, where she has also supported other PH candidates through similar community visits.
