SEREMBAN, July 31, 2026 – Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Friday urged the people of Negeri Sembilan to vote for Pakatan Harapan (PH) in Saturday’s state election, expressing confidence that voters will stick with the coalition for its proven track record in uplifting the state.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Anwar wished “Selamat mengundi” (happy voting) to all residents taking part in the “pesta demokrasi” (festival of democracy) tomorrow. He said he is confident that voters believe in HARAPAN as the coalition that has “raised the dignity and progress of the state’s people to a commendable level in previous terms.”
“All communal rhetoric must be rejected because we believe the benefits of development must be felt by every citizen regardless of race,” Anwar wrote. He ended the message with the rallying cry “Kekal HARAPAN!” (Stay with HARAPAN) and the hashtags #KekalHARAPAN and #UndiHARAPAN.
The post was accompanied by a vibrant campaign poster featuring Anwar standing alongside Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun against a backdrop of Malaysian flags, cheering crowds and the slogan “SELAMAT MENGUNDI” for 1 August 2026. The poster also carries the call “UNDILAH CALON HARAPAN” (Vote for Harapan candidates) under the Kekal HARAPAN branding.
The 16th Negeri Sembilan state election will be held on 1 August 2026 to elect all 36 members of the State Legislative Assembly. Nearly 890,000 registered voters will decide the outcome after the assembly was dissolved on 5 June 2026. Pakatan Harapan, the incumbent under Aminuddin Harun, is contesting every seat, while Barisan Nasional and other parties are also in the fray.
Anwar’s message comes as campaigning officially ends at midnight tonight, with polling centres opening on Saturday. The Prime Minister has been actively campaigning across the state in the final days, repeatedly emphasising inclusive development and good governance under the current state administration.
