PUTRAJAYA, April 16, 2026 – The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has expressed support for the growing mobile automotive services sector, particularly on-demand vehicle battery replacement, which is advancing in line with technological progress and modern consumer needs.
Today, KPDN witnessed the launch of the 250th PitStop BateriKu in Presint 15, Putrajaya. The event forms part of a wider initiative to expand access to faster, more convenient, and digitally driven mobile automotive services through the BateriKu app. The service also creates economic opportunities by promoting entrepreneurship and gig-economy business models.
The BateriKu service allows customers to request battery replacement directly at their location without visiting a workshop, including during emergencies. It is backed by a network of mobile technicians who ensure quick, efficient, and hassle-free delivery of the service.
In a statement, KPDN stressed that all service providers must strictly comply with existing laws, including the Consumer Protection Act 1999 and the Trade Descriptions Act 2011, to ensure every transaction is transparent, ethical, and free from any misleading practices.
“Price transparency is extremely important. Any pricing must be reasonable and free from profiteering in accordance with the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011,” the ministry said.
Consumers are reminded that they have the right to full information on pricing, product specifications, and warranty periods before deciding on any service.
KPDN pledged to continue monitoring the sector to maintain a healthy balance between industry innovation and consumer protection.
The public is advised to only engage registered and reputable service providers and to conduct due diligence before agreeing to any service.
This development reflects the government’s commitment to supporting technological advancements in the automotive sector while safeguarding consumer rights.
