PUTRAJAYA, July 6, 2026 — Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim today chaired the Dewan Kenegaraan Board of Governance Meeting, calling for the continuous strengthening of nationhood values to produce Malaysians with strong self-identity, integrity, and noble principles that will elevate the nation’s standing.
In a statement posted on his official social media account, Anwar emphasised that these efforts are essential to foster a society grounded in national values and to nurture a deep sense of patriotism among the people.
“At the Dewan Kenegaraan Board of Governance Meeting that I chaired today, I emphasised the importance of inculcating nationhood values to ensure the spirit of love for the country continues to flourish among the people,” he said.
Anwar also received a briefing on the progress of the Program Latihan Khidmat Negara (PLKN), noting its encouraging developments and strong positive feedback from participants and parents alike.
He stressed that the programme should be further strengthened as a key platform to build self-identity, discipline, and resilience among Malaysians.
“This programme should continue to be strengthened as a platform to cultivate a strong sense of identity, discipline and resilience among the people,” Anwar added.
The meeting also highlighted the role of the Felo Kenegaraan (Nationhood Fellows), an initiative that brings together prominent figures and statesmen from diverse backgrounds to contribute ideas toward reinforcing Malaysia’s nation-building agenda.
The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect the ongoing focus under the Malaysia MADANI framework on values-driven governance and holistic national development.
The meeting, held in Putrajaya, was attended by relevant officials and stakeholders involved in national education and youth development programmes.
