PUCHONG, Malaysia, 4 July 2025 – Residents of Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru (KKSB), Puchong can breathe a sigh of relief as the drainage system upgrade project in their area commenced on 28 May 2025 and is expected to be completed by 28 May 2027. The announcement was made during the Project Briefing and Stakeholder Engagement session with residents of Puchong Traditional Village – Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru, Petaling District, held at Dewan Camelia, Putra Heights.

According to Petaling District Engineer from the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS), Puan Hajah Maimunah Binti Abu Hassan Ashaari, the project is being undertaken in collaboration with Buditrans Consult Sdn. Bhd. Key components of the project include:
- Upgrading the main drainage system
- Constructing a new pump house
- Installing two high-capacity pumps
- Reorganizing utilities to ensure system efficiency
The project aims to reduce flood risks and enhance protection for the local community. Puchong Member of Parliament, Yeo Bee Yin, stated, “This is a crucial step for the safety and well-being of residents. We look forward to the results!”
