One account reported three explosions in Nurabad, the central district of Mamasani County, with video footage circulating that appears to show impacts. An earlier explosion was noted in the coastal area of Sirik.
The initial alert came from the account @BRICSinfo, which posted “JUST IN: US launches strikes on Iran, explosions reported” shortly after 23:00 GMT on July 29. Independent open-source intelligence accounts later identified the same two sites as the only confirmed strike locations at the time and noted the presence of a Royal Saudi Air Force Saab 2000 airborne early-warning aircraft on flight-tracking data—an asset that has frequently appeared during previous U.S. operations against Iranian targets.
As of early Thursday, U.S. Central Command had not issued an official statement confirming the strikes. Some reports cited anonymous U.S. officials saying operations had begun, while oil markets and risk assets showed heightened sensitivity to the developments.
The reported action occurs against the backdrop of a war that began on February 28, 2026, when the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran.
