Malaysia Shines at Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) 2025 Ministerial Meeting in Tokyo

TOKYO, June 1, 2025 – Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil proudly represented Malaysia at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) Ministerial Meeting in Tokyo, Japan, fostering regional cooperation in telecommunications and information and communication technology (ICT).

The quinquennial gathering brought together ministers and senior representatives from Asia-Pacific nations to discuss policies and partnerships aimed at advancing ICT development. Conducted in a spirit of collaboration and openness, the meeting provided a platform for meaningful dialogue.

Datuk Fahmi articulated the MADANI Government’s vision, emphasizing inclusive digital infrastructure development and Malaysia’s readiness to embrace emerging technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT). He reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to being a strategic partner in building a competitive, sustainable, and technology-driven region.

Expressing optimism, Fahmi hopes the resolutions reached in Tokyo will translate into tangible actions that expand technology access, enhance 21st-century skills, and strengthen innovation-based economies for the benefit of all citizens.

The Minister extended heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Japan for their warm hospitality and dedication to strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation.

“Makoto ni arigatō gozaimashita. Mata oai shimashō,” he said, adding, “Thank you very much. Till we meet again.”
