TEHRAN July 24, 2026 — Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a stark public warning on Friday, urging civilians in regional countries that host U.S. military personnel to immediately keep a distance of at least 500 meters from any locations where American troops are present.
In a statement released Friday, the IRGC claimed that many U.S. officers and soldiers had abandoned their formal bases “out of fear” of Iranian attacks and relocated to concealed residences and operational centers inside urban areas across the region. The Guards said these sites could become targets if hostilities continue, and therefore advised the public to stay clear for their own safety.
The IRGC also called on residents to report any newly identified locations of U.S. personnel to its official Telegram channel or website.
According to the statement, the warning comes amid what the IRGC describes as a renewed phase of conflict with the United States. It accused Washington of launching an “unprovoked war of aggression” against Iran roughly five months ago, allegedly beginning with the assassination of a senior Iranian religious and political leader and the deaths of 168 schoolchildren. The Guards said Iran had agreed to a memorandum of understanding after about 40 days of fighting to restore stability, but claimed the United States later violated the terms, formally abandoned the agreement around mid-July, and resumed military operations.
The IRGC further alleged that after failing to achieve military success, U.S. forces shifted to attacks on civilian infrastructure — including bridges, fishing docks, boats, vehicles, and railways — and recently targeted Arbaeen pilgrims near the Iraqi border. It warned that continued actions of this nature would prompt retaliation against those it holds responsible.
The statement was carried by Iranian outlets including Mehr News Agency and Tasnim News Agency. No immediate response from U.S. officials or the governments of host countries in the region was available at the time of reporting.
