KUALA LUMPUR April 28, 2026 – Malaysia’s Defence Minister and UMNO Deputy President Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin appeared in a special podcast session to mark the 80th anniversary of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO).
In the podcast, Khaled Nordin addressed several pressing issues, including current security challenges, developments in global geopolitics, Malaysia’s national defence preparedness, and the country’s longstanding neutral foreign policy stance. He also outlined UMNO’s future direction through the Rumah Bangsa concept, which aims to promote national unity.
“Berkesempatan hadir dalam sesi podcast sempena sambutan ulang tahun ke-80 UMNO,” Khaled Nordin wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Antara yang disentuh ialah cabaran keselamatan semasa, perkembangan geopolitik dunia, kesiapsiagaan pertahanan negara, pendirian berkecuali Malaysia serta hala tuju UMNO melalui gagasan Rumah Bangsa.”
He thanked podcast host Datuk Dr Noor Azizan for the invitation and the meaningful discussion, adding: “Terima kasih kepada Datuk Dr Noor Azizan atas jemputan dan ruang perbincangan yang cukup bermakna. Semoga UMNO terus menjadi wadah perjuangan yang relevan, sederhana dan berprinsip demi bangsa, agama dan negara.”
The session was held as UMNO – one of Malaysia’s oldest and most influential political parties, founded in 1946 – celebrates eight decades of service to the nation.
Khaled Nordin, who also represents the Kota Tinggi parliamentary seat, has used the platform to reaffirm UMNO’s role as a moderate and principled force in Malaysian politics.
The full podcast is expected to be released as part of UMNO’s anniversary commemorations.
