KUALA LUMPUR October 3, 2026 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he has never seen young people merely as “future leaders”, but as part of the strength shaping Malaysia today through their courage, knowledge and ideas.
In a statement posted on X on Saturday about his message at the Youth Economic Forum (YEF) 2026, Anwar urged youths to reject politics of division and racial sentiment. Instead, he called on them to emerge as a generation that strengthens unity, upholds humanitarian values and builds a Malaysia that is fairer and more dignified.
He also welcomed YEF proposals to elevate the status and standing of youth, expand opportunities and raise living standards for the people. The suggestions will be studied ahead of the MADANI Budget presentation on October 9, 2026, he said, God willing.
Anwar framed the forum’s ideas as part of a broader push to improve livelihoods while reinforcing social cohesion. His remarks placed young Malaysians not on the sidelines of national planning, but in the mainstream of how the country is being built now.
His message was that time is not only waiting to be inherited, but is being shaped today — and young people must be at the front line to shape it.
The statement was tagged with Budget 2027 and MADANI economy hashtags, underscoring the link between youth proposals and the coming budget debate.
