PUTRAJAYA, 9 October 2026 — President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi of Egypt began a two-day state visit to Malaysia today at the invitation of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim.
The visit, which runs until 10 October, is President Al Sisi’s first state visit to Malaysia since he took office in June 2014. He is accompanied by Cabinet ministers and senior Egyptian officials.
Malaysia and Egypt established diplomatic relations in 1959. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the visit is expected to further strengthen the longstanding partnership and elevate bilateral ties to a Strategic Partnership.

The Egyptian leader is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to review bilateral cooperation and exchange views on regional and international issues. Both leaders will witness the exchange of memoranda of understanding between the two countries. The Prime Minister will later host an official high tea at Seri Perdana Complex.
