KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 14 2026 — Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Anuar Bakri Abdul Salam was today appointed the new Sentul District Police Chief, taking over from Superintendent Jasni Zolpa, who had been acting in the post.
The handover of duties and rank-pinning ceremony for Anuar, 58, was held at the Sentul District Police Headquarters (IPD Sentul) and witnessed by Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus.
Fadil said the appointment was not merely recognition of Anuar’s performance and experience, but a major trust that must be carried out with integrity, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility.
“I call on all personnel of IPD Sentul to continue giving their full support, cooperation and commitment to the new District Police Chief,” he said.
At the same ceremony, Anuar’s wife, Zaidah Ikhwan, was appointed the new chairperson of the Sentul District Police Family Association (PERKEP), taking over from Jasni’s wife, Wan Safura Wan Mansor.
Fadil said Sentul remains among the districts contributing to index crime in the capital because of its high population density and large number of residential areas compared with other districts.
He said the large population has a direct bearing on violent crime and property crime, which the contingent is working to contain as effectively as possible.
He also gave an assurance that enforcement will continue to be stepped up based on intelligence and reports, particularly on car and motorcycle thefts in the district.
“Kuala Lumpur Police will take proactive measures and intensify enforcement to combat all index crime, cybercrime, drug abuse and critical traffic congestion across the capital, so that public order remains guaranteed,” he said.
