PUTRAJAYA, April 30, 2026 — Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today witnessed the exchange of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between MyDigital ID Sdn Bhd and 29 strategic partner organisations at the “Powering Trusted Access Across Malaysia’s Digital Ecosystem” forum and signing ceremony.
The partnerships aim to expand the use of Malaysia’s government-certified digital identity platform across key sectors, including federal and state government agencies (via CyberSecurity Malaysia), welfare (Yayasan MyKasih), education (Universiti Teknologi MARA), digital mobility platforms (SOCAR Mobility Malaysia Sdn Bhd), and technology infrastructure (Tenaga Nasional Berhad).
In his speech, Dr Zahid stressed the importance of trust as the foundation of Malaysia’s growing digital economy.
“Dunia digital hari ini sudah menjadi sebahagian daripada kehidupan harian kita. Daripada urusan kewangan, perkhidmatan Kerajaan hinggalah kepada pendidikan dan perniagaan… Tanpa kepercayaan, sistem digital tidak akan dapat berfungsi dengan baik,” he said, adding that MyDigital ID serves as a secure “one key” solution for seamless and trusted access to multiple services.
He described the MoU exchange as a clear demonstration of collective commitment to building a more organised and resilient national digital ecosystem.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar were also present.
MyDigital ID Chief Executive Officer Nik Hisham Nik Ibrahim noted that Malaysia has already chosen to go digital, but the real challenge is doing so in a trusted, inclusive and sustainable manner. Board Chairman Datuk Raja Nushirwan Zainal Abidin said the platform has now surpassed 11 million registered users and is integrated into more than 100 applications spanning government, GLCs, GLICs and private platforms. Login usage has nearly doubled (98.7% increase) in recent quarters.
MyDigital ID functions as a single sign-on digital identity layer that does not store personal data and does not replace MyKad. It provides secure verification through password or biometric authentication and is being positioned as essential national digital infrastructure.
Mandatory use is already rolling out — for example, MyJPJ app logins require MyDigital ID starting May 1, 2026 — with broader adoption targeted across government services by the end of the year. The platform aims to reach at least 17 million users by December 2026.
The event underscores the government’s ongoing push for a secure, efficient and citizen-centric digital transformation under the Malaysia Madani framework.
