BUSHEHR, IRAN March 3, 2026 — At least five members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including personnel from its air force and navy units, were killed in joint US-Israeli airstrikes targeting southern Iran, according to the country’s semiofficial ISNA news agency.
The strikes hit areas around the cities of Jam and Dayyer in Bushehr province, Iranian state media reported. The incident was first highlighted on social media by the account @BRICSinfo, which posted: “JUST IN: 🇮🇷 5 IRGC forces killed in US-Israeli attack in southern Iran.”
This latest attack forms part of Operation Epic Fury, the coordinated US-Israeli military campaign launched on February 28 that has targeted IRGC facilities, missile sites, air defenses, and naval assets across Iran.
Iranian Red Crescent officials have reported at least 555 deaths nationwide since the operation began, the majority among military and security personnel. Independent estimates from Israeli sources place IRGC and security force fatalities in the range of 1,000–1,500.
US Central Command has described the strikes as “precise and effective,” aimed at degrading Iran’s ability to project power in the region. Iran has vowed a strong response and has already launched multiple waves of missiles and drones toward Israeli territory and US positions in the Gulf.
The situation remains highly fluid as both sides escalate operations. Further details on the identities of the five IRGC members killed in Bushehr province have not yet been released.
