TEHRAN, IRAN February 28, 2026 — Amid escalating military exchanges between Iran, Israel, and the United States, a senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning to U.S. President Donald Trump, claiming that the missiles launched by Tehran so far are from its outdated stockpiles and that far more advanced weaponry will soon be revealed.
Sardar Ebrahim Jabbari, a high-ranking IRGC adviser and former commander of special security units, stated:
“Trump should know that today we fired the old stockpile missiles, soon we will unveil weapons you have never seen before.”
The remarks, broadcast on Iranian state television and shared by Tehran Times, come hours after reports of joint U.S.-Israeli airstrikes on Iranian military targets, including sites in and around Tehran. Iran has responded with ballistic missile barrages targeting Israeli positions and U.S. military bases in the Persian Gulf region, with unconfirmed reports of strikes near facilities in Bahrain and other Gulf states.
Jabbari’s statement is viewed as both a message of defiance to Washington and reassurance to the Iranian public that the country’s military capabilities remain robust despite the ongoing attacks. The IRGC general has a long history of strong rhetoric against the U.S. and Israel, having previously served in key protective and command roles within the Revolutionary Guards.
President Trump has described recent operations as “major combat actions” aimed at neutralizing Iran’s missile and nuclear programs, while urging regime change in Tehran. Iranian officials maintain that their actions are purely defensive in response to what they call “unprovoked aggression.”
The situation remains fluid, with air raid sirens reported across multiple countries in the region and international calls for de-escalation growing. Oil prices have spiked on fears of broader disruption to Gulf shipping lanes.
