KULIM, KEDAH, MALAYSIA February 1, 2026 – Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Minister of Home Affairs and Secretary-General of Pakatan Harapan, stressed the importance of unity and discipline within Parti Keadilan Rakyat (KEADILAN) through a strong and meaningful ship metaphor.
During a warm gathering with fellow KEADILAN activists in Kulim Bandar Baharu last night, he likened the party to a ship sailing towards its destination of struggle.
According to him, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, as President of KEADILAN, is the captain steering the ship’s course. Meanwhile, party members and activists are the crew, each shouldering specific duties and responsibilities.
“If everyone performs their tasks properly and places full trust in the captain, insyaAllah the ship will sail smoothly and reach its destination,” said Saifuddin.
He also warned of the dangers of actions that damage the party from within. “But imagine if, while on board the ship, some people are simultaneously trying to drill holes in the floor. Picture what would happen. The ship won’t go anywhere — in fact, everyone could sink.”
Saifuddin underlined that the struggle of KEADILAN requires focus, integrity, and commitment from every individual to carry out their respective roles to the best of their ability.
“Every role has meaning, every effort has an impact. If everyone stays focused, upholds their trust, and performs their duties well, insyaAllah this struggle will remain strong and reach its goal,” he added.
The meeting in Kulim Bandar Baharu took place in a relaxed atmosphere while discussing the party’s future direction and roles. Kulim Bandar Baharu is a constituency Saifuddin once represented as Member of Parliament, making the session especially meaningful in light of his personal history with KEADILAN.
The ship analogy is seen as a subtle yet powerful message aimed at reinforcing internal loyalty and unity within the party, particularly as it prepares to face upcoming political challenges, including preparations for the next general election.
Saifuddin, widely recognised as one of KEADILAN’s senior leaders, has consistently emphasised that the party’s strength lies in collective cooperation under Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership to realise the aspirations of a more just and prosperous Malaysia MADANI.
The struggle of KEADILAN, he said, is not merely about politics — it is a great trust that demands sincerity and responsibility from every member.
