KUALA LUMPUR June 11, 2026 — Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Haji Fadillah Yusof witnessed the signing of a strategic partnership between Weststar Maxus Sdn Bhd and Yinson GreenTech’s drivEV today at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026. The agreement covers the supply of 300 fully electric Maxus eDeliver 5 panel vans, marking a significant step in Malaysia’s push toward green mobility.
The ceremony took place at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). It underscores both companies’ commitment to accelerating sustainable transport solutions and supporting the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which aims for net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Fadillah, who also serves as Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, highlighted the deal’s role in reducing carbon emissions, promoting clean technologies, and advancing Malaysia’s automotive industry transformation.
“This collaboration demonstrates the private sector’s strong support for the government’s green agenda,” he said during the event.
Key Highlights of the Partnership
- Fleet Expansion: drivEV will integrate 300 units of the Maxus eDeliver 5 into its electric mobility operations, targeting commercial fleets with a focus on efficiency and zero tailpipe emissions.
- Vehicle Features: The eDeliver 5 is a mid-size electric panel van built on a modular EV platform. It offers strong performance with a 120 kW (163 hp) motor and competitive range suitable for urban and inter-city logistics.
- Broader Showcase: Weststar Maxus also unveiled new models at KLIMS 2026, spanning both electric vehicles (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) segments. Attendees viewed models including the eTerron 9 electric pickup.
Fadillah and other dignitaries toured the exhibition, inspecting the displayed vehicles and engaging with industry leaders.
Weststar Maxus, the official distributor of Maxus vehicles in Malaysia, continues to expand its EV lineup, while Yinson GreenTech’s drivEV focuses on comprehensive electric mobility solutions for businesses.
The KLIMS 2026 event runs from June 12–21 at MITEC, offering the public a chance to explore the latest in automotive innovation.
