ABU DHABI April 30, 2026 – The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has announced an immediate travel ban for UAE nationals to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Lebanese Republic, and the Republic of Iraq.
In a statement released on Thursday, the ministry cited “current regional developments” as the reason for the precautionary measure. It strongly urged all Emirati citizens currently in these three countries to expedite their return to the UAE for their safety.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces a travel ban on UAE nationals traveling to Iran, Lebanon, and Iraq,” the statement read. “It calls on all UAE nationals currently in these countries to leave immediately and return home as soon as possible.”
The ministry also encouraged affected citizens to contact its emergency hotline at +971 800 44444 for assistance.
This move comes as the Middle East continues to face heightened security challenges, with ongoing conflicts and tensions involving multiple regional actors. The decision reflects the UAE’s priority on protecting its citizens amid the volatile situation.
