PUTRAJAYA 16 July 2026 — Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy visit from a delegation of Balai Ikhtisas Malaysia (BIM), the national umbrella body for Malaysia’s professional organisations.
The delegation was led by BIM President Prof ChM Dr Juan Joon Ching. During the meeting, the Prime Minister and the delegation exchanged views on efforts to develop talent and enhance the preparedness of professionals in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).
Anwar stressed that these initiatives are vital to strengthen Malaysia’s position as a regional hub of professional excellence.
“The government greatly appreciates the role of the professional community as a strategic partner in strengthening the country’s competitiveness, driving innovation, and advancing the MADANI agenda for the well-being of the rakyat,” he said.
The Prime Minister also accepted an invitation to Hari Ikhtisas Malaysia, an event that recognises the contributions of professionals to national development.
He expressed hope that close collaboration between the government and the professional community would continue to be strengthened to produce more talents who are ethical, competitive, and capable of leading Malaysia into the future.
The meeting underscores the government’s ongoing engagement with professional bodies as part of efforts to build a future-ready workforce under the MADANI framework. BIM serves as the coordinating body for professional organisations recognised by Acts of Parliament in Malaysia.
