MACHANG, Oct 17 (Bernama)-The remains of a Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) officer, who was allegedly killed by her husband at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) staff quarters in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, are being taken to Tumpat, Kelantan, for burial following a post-mortem this morning.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the remains were being transported by road and were expected to arrive in Tumpat tonight.
He said the suspect had recently been released from prison after serving a sentence for a drug-related offence.
“The victim leaves behind two children, aged five and six, who are now being cared for by her older sister,” he told a press conference after launching the Home Ministry’s 2026 Kampung Angkat MADANI and Sekolah Angkat MADANI initiatives here today.
Last Thursday, an AKPS officer was found dead at the KLIA staff quarters in an incident believed to involve her husband. Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad reportedly said police received information about the incident at 8.30 pm that day.
Meanwhile, Saifuddin Nasution said Kampung Gosong here had received an allocation of RM500,000 under the Kampung Angkat MADANI initiative to upgrade public facilities and repair residents’ homes.
The upgrading works cover the mosque, surau, toilets, ablution areas and cemetery, as well as repairs to 14 houses.
He said the house repairs were carried out in collaboration with Akademi Binaan Malaysia (ABM), involving 10 individuals under the supervision of the Prisons Department and members of the People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA).
Under the Sekolah Angkat MADANI initiative, Sekolah Kebangsaan Jambul Lawar received RM100,000 to upgrade its facilities, including the ceiling, toilets, water supply, computer laboratory and guard post.
The school has also been equipped with smart boards to enhance pupils’ interaction during teaching and learning sessions.
In addition, 82 villagers and 54 students received zakat assistance distributed through the corporate zakat wakalah scheme of PBLT Sdn Bhd.
