PUTRAJAYA, May 5, 2026 – Pakatan Harapan (PH) secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has confirmed that top leaders from PH and Barisan Nasional (BN) will hold a high-level meeting this evening in Putrajaya to discuss various pressing issues, with the ongoing political crisis in Negeri Sembilan taking centre stage.
The meeting follows a series of internal discussions within PH, including a PKR political bureau meeting and the coalition’s presidential council session, both chaired by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Sources from both coalitions indicated that the joint PH-BN talks will take place at the Sri Perdana Complex.
Saifuddin made the announcement after inspecting operations at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1, telling reporters that the gathering aims to address multiple current matters, particularly the political turmoil in Negeri Sembilan.
The outcome of tonight’s meeting is being closely watched as it could determine the future of the unity government’s stability both at the federal and state levels. Speculation is rife about possible resolutions, including options for snap state polls in Negeri Sembilan, though no official confirmation has been made yet.
PH and UMNO political bureaus are expected to negotiate key issues, including preparations for potential state elections in Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Johor.
This latest development comes amid heightened political activity, with PH scheduled to hold a major ceramah in Seremban tomorrow featuring Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and other top leaders.
