PUTRAJAYA, April 15, 2026 – The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) has expressed its highest appreciation and gratitude to Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who also serves as Finance Minister, for his proactive steps in enhancing aid to paddy farmers, smallholders, eligible diesel users and the wider agricultural community.
In an official media statement issued today, KPKM described the government’s latest measures as timely and significant in addressing the prolonged global energy crisis stemming from conflicts in West Asia, which continue to exert pressure on national food production costs and supply chains. The ministry welcomed the MADANI Government’s continued focus on food security and the welfare of the rakyat.
Among the key enhancements announced:
- The Insentif Pembajakan kepada Pesawah (IPKP) has been increased from RM160 to RM300 per hectare for the 2026 planting season. The move is expected to directly benefit nearly 200,000 paddy farmers by substantially reducing their operational costs. The government will also continue the harvesting incentive, underscoring its long-term commitment to the national paddy and rice sector.
- Cash assistance under the BUDI Agri-Komoditi and BUDI Diesel Individu initiatives has been raised from RM300 to RM400 per month effective April 2026. This will provide relief to more than 200,000 farmers and smallholders, as well as approximately 150,000 individual diesel vehicle owners in Peninsular Malaysia, helping them cope with rising fuel costs and sustain agricultural activities.
The ministry also lauded the government’s decision to relax conditions for the purchase of diesel for agricultural machinery, describing it as a pragmatic move that will enable agribusiness operators to carry out their work more efficiently without unnecessary bureaucratic constraints.
“KPKM is confident that these announced measures will deliver positive impact on the productivity of the agro-food sector and further strengthen national food security in both the short and long term,” the statement said.
The ministry pledged to continue close collaboration with all relevant ministries and agencies to ensure smooth implementation of the initiatives so that they fully achieve their intended objectives.
“KPKM remains fully committed to supporting the MADANI Government’s agenda in strengthening the country’s agricultural sector for the welfare of the people and the prosperity of the nation,” it added.
