KUALALUMPUR, June 11, 2025 – Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Deputy IGP) DIG Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay officiated the handover ceremony for the Director of the Logistics and Technology Department (JLog) at Dewan Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Hashim, Kuala Lumpur Police Training Centre (PULAPOL) this morning.

The ceremony marked the mandatory retirement of JLog Director CP Dato’ Seri Sahabudin Abd Manan, effective tomorrow (June 12), after 37 years of dedicated service with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
Upon arrival, Tan Sri Ayob Khan, accompanied by his wife and Deputy Chairperson of the Police Family Association (PERKEP) Malaysia, Puan Sri Dato’ Zalena Mohd Ariffin, was welcomed by Deputy Director of Management (Administration) Bukit Aman and Organising Committee Chairperson DCP Dato’ Ts. Azizee Ismail, along with PULAPOL Kuala Lumpur Commander DCP Alzafny Ahmad.
The event commenced with the signing and handover of official documents and the JLog Director’s ceremonial baton from Dato’ Seri Sahabudin to Deputy Director (Technical/Operations) JLog Bukit Aman, DCP Gilberd Philip Layang, who will act in the role.
Additionally, the handover of the JLog PERKEP Chairperson duties took place, with Datin Seri Nor Aidila Abdul Majid passing the role to acting chairperson Puan Siti Manau, witnessed by Puan Sri Dato’ Zalena.
In his speech, Tan Sri Ayob Khan praised Dato’ Seri Sahabudin as a visionary technocrat leader who played a pivotal role in modernising PDRM’s logistics and technology systems, enhancing the force’s overall readiness.
“Today, the force bids farewell to another highly credible senior officer, a key figure in our top leadership, Dato’ Seri Sahabudin. He has led JLog with unwavering commitment and integrity since July 5, 2021,” he said.
Tan Sri Ayob Khan also presented a service certificate to Dato’ Seri Sahabudin, followed by a group photo session as a memento.
The ceremony was attended by PDRM directors, Selangor Police Chief CP Dato’ Hussein Omar Khan, Malaysia Police Secretary SAC Dato’ Kamaruzaman Abdullah, senior officers, PERKEP members, and media representatives.
As a final tribute, a Retreat Parade honouring Dato’ Seri Sahabudin will be held at the PULAPOL Kuala Lumpur Parade Ground this afternoon.
