PUTRAJAYA, May 9, 2026 — Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed gratitude after a private dinner meeting with world-renowned Islamic scholar Shaykh Mufti Ismail Menk last night.
In a post on X, Zahid — who also serves as UMNO President and Member of Parliament for Bagan Datuk — described the encounter as highly beneficial.
“Alhamdulillah, last night I had the opportunity to meet Shaykh Mufti Ismail Menk. I heard many beneficial views and shares from him. He is always calm and full of wisdom in delivering his da’wah,” Zahid wrote.
He added that Mufti Menk will be the keynote speaker today at the “Beyond Imagination: Jannah” programme, part of The Faith Conference, taking place at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC).
Zahid said he hopes the scholar’s presence in Malaysia will inspire the country’s youth to draw closer to religious knowledge and strengthen their personal values.
“May his presence in the country continue to bring goodness and give inspiration to many young people to continue approaching knowledge and strengthening values in life. Insya-Allah,” he posted.
The event, which runs approximately from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM today, features Mufti Ismail Menk together with his sons, Shaykh Ibraheem Menk and Shaykh Adnaan Menk. The programme focuses on the theme of Jannah (Paradise) and is organised by Faith Events to promote spiritual reflection and guidance for attendees.
Mufti Ismail Menk, a Zimbabwean scholar and preacher with a massive global following, is known for his calm delivery, practical advice, and motivational lectures on Islam that resonate especially with younger audiences.
Positive reactions poured in quickly on social media, with many users echoing Zahid’s sentiments and expressing excitement for the day’s programme.
