LAS VEGAS May 25, 2026 – After a four-year hiatus due to military service, global superstars BTS reunited on stage at the 52nd American Music Awards, delivering an unforgettable moment as they presented the award for Best Female R&B Artist.
The seven members — RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — took the MGM Grand Garden Arena stage in coordinated, stylish formal outfits, eliciting thunderous applause from the crowd. The group appeared visibly happy and at ease, smiling and interacting warmly as they addressed the audience.
In the official 24-second clip shared by the AMAs, wide shots captured the purple-lit arena packed with fans holding up phones, while close-ups highlighted the members’ sharp looks and charismatic presence. The massive LED screen behind them displayed “AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS,” and later highlighted the category “BEST FEMALE R&B ARTIST.”
SZA emerged victorious in the category, beating nominees including Kehlani, Summer Walker, Teyana Taylor, and Tyla. She made a surprise appearance to accept the trophy, presented by the group.
This marks BTS’s first award show appearance in four years and builds on their deep history with the AMAs, where they made their U.S. television performance debut in 2017. The group is also nominated for major honors this year, including Artist of the Year.
ARMY (BTS’s fandom) flooded social media with excitement, praising individual member highlights such as V’s striking “vampire-inspired” look, RM’s commanding stage presence, Jimin’s visuals, and the overall chemistry of the septet back together.
The appearance comes amid BTS’s ongoing ARIRANG world tour and recent releases, reaffirming their status as one of the biggest acts in music. Fans and critics alike hailed the moment as a highlight of the night, proving the group’s enduring global impact.
The 2026 AMAs, hosted by Queen Latifah, aired live on CBS and Paramount+ from Las Vegas.
