REMBAU, NEGERI SEMBILAN July 18, 2026 — Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed strong optimism for Barisan Nasional (BN) on Saturday (July 18, 2026), describing a vibrant “blue wave” of support sweeping across Negeri Sembilan during the candidate nomination process.
In a post on X, Zahid, who is also UMNO President and BN Chairman, said the party’s signature blue colour was “clearly flooding the entire state” that morning, reflecting high spirits among supporters eager to see BN regain control of the state government.
Zahid accompanied senior BN leader Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Hasan to the official candidate nomination centre at Dewan Seri Rembau, Majlis Daerah Rembau.
“Alhamdulillah, the blue wave is clearly flooding the entire Negeri Sembilan this morning. I can feel the extraordinary spirit to bring Barisan Nasional further and return it to lead this state,” he wrote.
He offered prayers for all BN candidates and urged party workers to intensify their grassroots efforts in the next phase of the campaign.
“To the entire party machinery, continue going down to the ground. Approach the people with wisdom, listen to their voices, and bring the message of Barisan Nasional’s struggle to every corner of Negeri Sembilan,” Zahid said.
“We must continue working hard, move as one team, and strive to the best of our ability to return Negeri Sembilan to the fold of Barisan Nasional. Insya-Allah, with spirit, unity, and hard work from everyone, we will reach the victory line.”
The post was accompanied by several photos showing large crowds of supporters dressed in blue, waving BN flags featuring the party’s scales symbol, and participating in a lion dance performance. Leaders were seen waving to cheering supporters, indicating a lively and well-attended nomination event in Rembau.
The developments come as Barisan Nasional steps up its campaign to reclaim Negeri Sembilan in the upcoming state election.
