PORT DICKSON July 18, 2026 — Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun confirmed his participation in the official candidate nomination process for the DUN Linggi seat on Saturday, describing the proceedings as smooth and well-organised.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Aminuddin wrote: “DUN Linggi, saya hadir. Alhamdulillah, proses penamaan calon bagi DUN Linggi hari ini berjalan dengan lancar.”
Although this marks his first time contesting the Linggi constituency, Aminuddin emphasised that his service to the area is not new. As the Member of Parliament for Port Dickson and the state’s Chief Minister, he said he has long been responsible for Linggi and has regularly engaged with residents from various backgrounds to address local issues.
He pledged to continue and strengthen these efforts if given the mandate as the elected representative for DUN Linggi.
Aminuddin shared photographs of his past community work in the constituency and sought prayers, blessings, and support from the people of Linggi.
“Semoga Allah SWT mempermudahkan segala urusan dan mengizinkan kemenangan agar amanah ini dapat terus dipikul demi berbakti kepada rakyat. Insya-Allah, kita terus bekerja, terus berkhidmat,” he wrote, using the hashtags #KekalHarapan, #BersihMuafakatSejahtera, #ProaktifMesraResponsif and #DemiNogori.
The nomination process on July 18 formed part of preparations for the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election, scheduled for August 1, 2026. Aminuddin was officially announced as Pakatan Harapan’s candidate for Linggi on July 14 by PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He is vacating his long-held seat of Sikamat (which he has represented since 2008), which will now be contested by his political secretary, Nor Azman Mohamad.
A total of 103 candidates were confirmed across the 36 state seats after nominations closed on Saturday, with no papers rejected.
Aminuddin is expected to face Barisan Nasional incumbent Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli in Linggi. The move has drawn attention as a strategic shift by the ruling coalition ahead of polling day.
Early voting is set for July 28, with official campaigning underway following the completion of nominations.
