SEREMBAN, NEGERI SEMBILAN July 29, 2026 — Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Wednesday held a dialogue session with young people and university students, reaffirming that the country remains firmly rooted in its Malay-Islamic foundation while embracing the strength of its multi-racial and multi-religious society.
Speaking at the “Temu Anwar Negeri Sembilan – Dialog Anak Muda” event held at Pusat Islamiah in Negeri Sembilan on 29 July 2026, Anwar addressed a range of issues facing the nation and its people.
“I emphasise that this country remains firmly based on Malay Islam, yet the country continues to firmly embrace the strength and togetherness of all races and religions that have been the foundation of Malaysia’s strength for so long. So do not let any party try to disrupt this unity,” Anwar said.
He also called on today’s youth to explore new fields required by the modern world while remaining grounded in the nation’s core values.
“I stressed the need for young people today to explore new areas needed by the world while continuing to stay rooted to the earth — that is, remaining steadfast in our values, our morals, our culture and our humanity,” he added.
Anwar linked these points to the Madani vision, stating that a Madani nation is one that never demeans the dignity of any community while strengthening its foundational pillars for the well-being of all.
The session, attended by a large crowd of students and young Malaysians, formed part of ongoing engagement under the government’s Madani agenda. Photos from the event showed Anwar speaking from the stage and interacting with participants, many of whom waved Malaysian flags and Madani banners.
The Prime Minister closed his remarks by urging young Malaysians to balance innovation with principle as the country moves forward.
