MARAN, PAHANG July 7, 2026 – Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim today unveiled a package of seven special incentives for FELDA settlers during the national Hari Peneroka celebration marking FELDA’s 70th anniversary at Stadium Tun Abdul Razak in Jengka, Maran.
In a statement posted on X, Anwar expressed gratitude to the settlers and praised the close cooperation between FELDA communities and the MADANI government. He noted that FELDA is now being managed in a more organised and integrity-driven manner, with a strong commitment to improving the lives of settlers and future generations.
“Alhamdulillah, thanks to the support of the settlers and the strong cooperation of the entire FELDA community with the MADANI Government, we are beginning to see increasingly tangible changes,” Anwar wrote. “FELDA is now managed in a more structured way, with integrity, and based on a firm resolve to continue defending the welfare of the settlers and their heirs.”
He announced the new incentives as a token of appreciation for the settlers’ long-standing contributions as the backbone of national development. Quoting the prayer of Prophet Shu’aib (AS) — “In urīdu illal iṣlāḥa mastata’tu” (I intend nothing but reform to the best of my ability) — Anwar reaffirmed his government’s dedication to delivering meaningful improvements for the people, especially FELDA families.
According to reports from the event, the incentives focus on housing, financial relief, education, healthcare, digital empowerment, and staff welfare:
- New Generation Housing (2R1L Concept): A dedicated committee will resolve long-standing issues for second-generation settlers. The government will amend the Group Settlement Areas Act 1960 to allow more than one house on a single lot. About 8,000 units have already been built and occupied.
- Completion of Abandoned PGBF Housing Projects: An additional RM150 million to finish 554 housing units nationwide that had faced delays due to planning and monitoring issues.
- Felda Sentuhan Kasih Agricultural Projects: An extra RM20 million for two sites in Kedah and Negeri Sembilan to complete nearly finished units for new-generation settlers.
- Lot Generasi FELDA (LGF) Initiative: Addressing land titles for over 31,000 lots across several states, with federal support to ease infrastructure costs previously borne by state governments.
- Staff Housing and Management Improvements: RM450 million allocated over the next three years to repair and build new housing for FELDA staff, plus additional funding to strengthen the FELDA Management Board.
- Digital Literacy Programmes: RM28.85 million for digital skills training across settlements to boost online safety, entrepreneurship, and the gig economy under the Digital MADANI initiative.
- Education and Healthcare Support: Repairs to primary and secondary schools in 370 FELDA schemes, plus additional funding for the FELDA MAYA Health Squad (which has conducted thousands of health screenings). The package also includes restoring FELDA’s crude palm oil sales model, projected to deliver up to RM42 million in extra income to settlers.
Anwar stressed the need for swift implementation, instructing FELDA management to submit progress reports every two weeks on key projects and to prepare draft legal amendments within two months.
“May FELDA continue to advance, prosper, and become a source of national pride,” he concluded in his post, using the hashtags #MalaysiaMADANI, #MADANIBekerja, and #YakinMADANI.
The announcements come as part of ongoing efforts by the MADANI government to address legacy issues in FELDA while strengthening the agency that has played a pivotal role in rural development and Malaysia’s agricultural sector since 1956.
FELDA settlers and their representatives welcomed the focus on second-generation housing and practical support measures during today’s celebration.
