WELLINGTON, New Zealand July 17, 2025 – On the fourth day of his official visit to New Zealand, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi took a brief respite from his packed schedule to visit Unity Book Store, a renowned bookstore nestled in the heart of Wellington.
Despite a demanding itinerary, the Rural and Regional Development Minister emphasized the importance of seeking, reading, and valuing knowledge. In a statement shared on social media, he described books as “windows that open insights, transcending geographical and cultural boundaries.” He highlighted how each page holds the thoughts, history, perspectives, and hopes of humanity from diverse backgrounds, inspiring him to explore the world through reading wherever he is.
Dr. Ahmad Zahid extended an invitation to the public, asking, “What book are you reading today?” as he encouraged a culture of continuous learning. The visit underscores his commitment to promoting education and intellectual growth, even amidst official duties. He is scheduled to conclude his working visit and return to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow.
