KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 2026 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he will table Budget 2027 in the Dewan Rakyat this afternoon, describing the fifth Madani Budget as an effort to raise living standards while ensuring national progress is felt by every citizen.
In a post on X, Anwar, who is also finance minister, said the budget would be presented “with the aspiration to reach for the skies while remaining rooted to the earth.” He said it continues the government’s commitment so that “the standard of living continues to be raised, the people’s welfare is protected, and each of us can live with dignity.”
The tabling is scheduled for 3.30pm and will be broadcast live on major television channels and digital platforms, he said.
Budget 2027 is the second under the 13th Malaysia Plan and is framed around the three pillars of the Madani Economy framework: raising the ceiling of growth, raising the floor of living standards, and driving governance reforms. The Finance Ministry has previously outlined 10 focus areas, including narrowing regional disparities, easing cost-of-living pressures through targeted aid, and strengthening social protection.
