KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 2026 — Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo has spotlighted Boost SME, a newly launched integrated digital financial platform, as a vital tool empowering Malaysia’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) amid the nation’s push toward an AI-powered future.
In a post on X Thursday, Gobind emphasised that “Malaysia’s AI journey is driven by businesses, workers and the community.” He promoted Boost SME as an all-in-one solution offering fast digital banking, SME loans, daily interest and rebates, and seamless payment tools.
“With this platform, SMEs can manage operations more efficiently and focus on what matters most — serving customers and growing their businesses,” the minister wrote, tagging the Boost app and using hashtags linked to the national AI agenda, fintech and MSMEs.
The platform, rolled out by Boost (the fintech arm of Axiata Group) on August 18 at KL Sentral, consolidates business banking, payments and financing into a single digital ecosystem. Businesses can open accounts fully online in as little as five minutes, receive same-day DuitNow QR settlements (including weekends and public holidays), and access flexible financing options.
Key features include Boost Grow, which pays 3% annual interest on idle cash with no minimum balance, and Boost Flow, which provides a 0.1% sales rebate on monthly transactions up to RM2,000 plus merchant cash advances starting from RM10,000. Larger needs can be met through Boost Bank’s Biz Loan of up to RM300,000, with approvals possible in 10 minutes and funds disbursed within 24 hours. Eligible merchants also receive complimentary AWS e-Invoicing subscriptions and Soundbox Lite devices.
Gobind attended the official launch, where he noted that Boost SME represents a natural evolution in supporting businesses to operate more efficiently, build resilience and unlock new growth opportunities. The initiative aligns with broader government targets under the Malaysia Digital 2030 roadmap, which aims for the digital economy to contribute 30% of GDP by 2030.
Boost SME is designed to reduce administrative burdens and improve cash-flow management for the country’s MSMEs, which form the backbone of the economy. By simplifying access to modern financial tools, the platform is expected to help more local businesses digitalise operations and remain competitive in an increasingly AI-driven landscape.
