KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 2026 — Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim today took time from his busy schedule to meet three prominent Islamic scholars currently visiting Malaysia at Nasyrul Quran.
The scholars are Egyptian hadith expert Al-Fadhil Al-Allamah Al-Muhaddith Syeikh Dr Mustafa al-Nadwi Al-Hasani; world-renowned Qur’an reciter Al-Fadhil Al-Allamah Al-Muqri’ Syeikh Dr Ahmad Isa Al-Ma’sarawy; and Al-Fadhil Al-Syeikh Maulana Al-Sayyid Afeefuddin Al-Jailani, grand custodian of the waqf, mosque and maqam of Syeikh Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani.
In a social media post, Anwar said he used the opportunity to inquire about their well-being, seek their advice and prayers, and express appreciation for their willingness to share knowledge and wisdom while promoting Islamic teachings in Malaysia.
“May the visit by these scholars become a means for increased knowledge, blessings and love for the religion, while strengthening our efforts to build a society that is virtuous, knowledgeable and lives in harmony, insya-Allah,” he wrote, adding the hashtags #MalaysiaMADANI and #YakinMADANI.
Photos shared by the Prime Minister showed him in discussion and exchanging greetings with the scholars in a formal setting at the complex. The meeting underscores the government’s emphasis on engaging with international Islamic scholarship as part of broader efforts under the MADANI framework.
