KUALA LUMPUR, July 8, 2026 — The Malaysian government’s flagship Baucar Buku MADANI 2026 programme has entered full swing, with eligible secondary school students now able to redeem their RM100 e-vouchers to purchase books and reading materials.
The initiative, under the MADANI Government through the Ministry of Education (KPM), aims to cultivate a stronger reading culture, ease the financial burden on families, and support students’ academic needs.
Key Details of the Programme
- Value: RM100 e-voucher per eligible student.
- Beneficiaries: Approximately 2.04 million to 2.2 million secondary school students (Tingkatan 1–6, including Form 6, matrikulasi, and Institut Pendidikan Guru/IPG students) under KPM.
- Redemption Period: July 1 to October 31, 2026.
- Platform: Redeemed digitally via the BookCapital portal integrated with the DELIMa system (delima.bookcapital.com.my).
Students must purchase at least one book from the special “Judul Khas Baucar Buku MADANI 2026” category (which includes works by Sasterawan Negara, award-winning literature, STEM titles, and books on AI, technology, history, and philosophy) before using the remaining balance on other titles. The platform offers hundreds of thousands of books from local publishers.
The programme was announced by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim on May 29, 2026, during the opening of the 43rd Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair.
Early feedback from students has been encouraging. Many described the voucher as timely help for buying expensive reference books, especially ahead of major examinations like the SPM.
One Form 5 student said the voucher allows her to own her own reference materials instead of relying on library loans or photocopies, helping her prepare better while saving her family’s expenses. Others highlighted the appeal of physical books and the opportunity to add motivational, religious, or general interest titles to their collections.
In a recent social media post on July 8, 2026, Erwin Khairul Ahmad, Director-General of the Department of Information Malaysia (Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia), shared a video message encouraging students and the public to make full use of the vouchers.
“Membaca membuka minda, ilmu membina negara. Gunakan Baucar Buku e-MADANI 2026 dan bersama-sama kita menyemarakkan budaya membaca,” the post read, reinforcing the government’s push for lifelong learning and knowledge-building.
The video highlighted the scale of the programme — benefiting over 2.2 million students — and directed users to the official redemption portal.
Officials say the digital voucher system makes redemption more transparent, convenient, and efficient compared to previous physical methods. It also channels support directly to the local book industry by encouraging purchases through registered sellers on the platform.
The MADANI Book Voucher is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen human capital development and promote reading as a national habit. Students are advised to log in to their DELIMa accounts promptly to check eligibility and begin the redemption process before the October 31 deadline.
For full details and redemption steps, students and parents can visit the official BookCapital portal or check announcements from their schools and the Ministry of Education.
