PARIS, 5 July 2025 – Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim witnessed the signing of a significant agreement between AirAsia and Airbus for the purchase of A321XLR aircraft, expected to bolster the airline’s operations for short and medium-haul routes. This acquisition will not only expand AirAsia’s flight network but also support Malaysia’s ambition to become a leading aviation hub in Asia.

In another development, Anwar observed the exchange of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between 3P Capital Adviser and Ardian, a leading French private investment firm. This collaboration aims to explore investment opportunities in private markets, opening new avenues for Malaysians to access alternative investments.
He also held a meeting with Imerys, an industrial mineral processing company operating in Malaysia for over 25 years. Imerys expressed its commitment to expanding operations, supporting the development of high-value and eco-friendly manufacturing sectors in the country.
Additionally, Anwar engaged with Arkema, a global leader in specialty chemicals, which is evaluating new investment opportunities in Malaysia. This initiative has the potential to create high-skill jobs, accelerate technology transfer, and strengthen Malaysia’s position as a regional bioeconomy hub.
