KOTA KINABALU, June 13, 2026 — Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim wrapped up his one-day working visit to Sabah this evening with a dinner hosted by Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman at Istana Seri Kinabalu.
The Prime Minister and the Sabah Governor held cordial discussions on key issues concerning the state’s future, including development agendas, economic strengthening, social welfare, and efforts to improve the standard of living for Sabahans.
Anwar emphasised that close cooperation and strong ties between the Federal Government and the State Government remain crucial for Sabah’s continued progress towards balanced and inclusive development.
“I am confident that the close relationship and solid cooperation between the Federal Government and the State Government will continue to serve as an important foundation in ensuring Sabah continues to advance, prosper, and enjoy more balanced and inclusive development,” he said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).
The dinner, attended by senior officials, featured warm exchanges and a token exchange between the leaders.
Anwar’s visit earlier in the day included several key programmes under the Malaysia MADANI framework, such as the groundbreaking ceremony for the Sabah Southern Madani Link power transmission project in Sipitang, community events, and officiating the 2026 National Unity Week celebration at Likas Sports Complex.
The visit underscores the federal government’s commitment to Sabah’s development priorities and harmonious federal-state relations.
