KUALA LUMPUR, May 21, 2026— Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged Malaysian diplomats to bolster the country’s economic diplomacy efforts, aiming to attract high-quality trade and investment that will drive sustainable national economic growth.
Speaking at an official engagement, Anwar emphasised the critical role of diplomats in advancing Malaysia’s economic interests on the global stage. “Malaysian diplomats need to strengthen economic diplomacy to attract trade and investment of quality for the country’s sustainable economic growth,” he said.
The statement, shared by the Ministry of Communications (@komunikasi_gov), aligns with the Malaysia MADANI framework, which focuses on civil, progressive, and people-centric development.
