IRVING, TEXAS February 26, 2026 – U.S. Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-TX) took to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday to express strong support for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, highlighting the dangerous work they perform in removing violent criminal aliens from North Texas communities.
In a video post shared on Feb. 26, 2026, the Congresswoman stated:
“I wanted people to know that North Texans are proud of the work that is being done by the brave men and women of ICE. Not only is my guest a leader in the ICE Dallas Field Office that is taking violent, criminal aliens out of our communities, but he was there when the facility was attacked by a sniper who wanted to kill ICE Agents simply because they are doing their jobs and enforcing the law.”
The guest referenced by Van Duyne is Terry Davis, Assistant Field Office Director at the ICE Dallas Field Office. Davis accompanied the Congresswoman to Washington, D.C., this week, including events tied to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address.
The sniper attack Van Duyne alluded to occurred on September 24, 2025, at the ICE facility in Dallas. According to reports, 29-year-old Joshua Jahn of Fairview opened fire, targeting ICE personnel. The shooter killed two immigrant detainees and injured another before taking his own life. No ICE agents were physically harmed in the incident, but the attack underscored the real dangers faced by federal immigration officers amid heightened tensions over border security and enforcement.
Van Duyne, who represents Texas’s 24th Congressional District, has been a vocal advocate for robust immigration enforcement. Her message comes as the Trump administration ramps up deportations of criminal non-citizens nationwide, with ICE operations in Texas playing a key role.
The Congresswoman’s post has drawn attention online, with supporters praising ICE’s frontline efforts while critics debate broader immigration policies. As of Friday morning, the video had garnered several thousand views.
“North Texans stand with the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe,” Van Duyne emphasized in her remarks.
Life News Agency will continue to monitor developments in immigration enforcement and public safety across Texas and the nation.
