PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA January 13, 2026 – Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), Hannah Yeoh, today won the defamation lawsuit she filed against former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan at the Court of Appeal.
In a statement posted on social media following the court decision, Hannah Yeoh said she was “extremely grateful and delighted” with the outcome.
The case originated six years ago when Musa Hassan, during a forum at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), allegedly made defamatory remarks, including:
“And they also want to damage the religion of Islam in this country because they have links with the Evangelist group. They also have links with Jews to damage this country. And from the extensive research I have conducted, I found that there is a connection between the Evangelist group and the DAP party here, yes — because they have written books, and Hannah Yeoh has also written a book to turn this country into a Christian nation.”
Hannah Yeoh stated that for six years she had to live with various falsehoods and slanders circulating on social media, which not only tarnished her reputation but also misled the public. She stressed that the accusations came from a former Inspector-General of Police who was expected to act with greater care and to base his statements on verified facts rather than misleading claims that created false perceptions.
She expressed deep gratitude to God and extended her appreciation to her legal team — Dato’ Ambiga Sreenevasan, Razlan Hadri Zulkifli, Sangeet Kaur Deo, and Lim Wei Jiet — for their dedication throughout the legal proceedings.
Following this victory, Hannah Yeoh said her focus now is to continue serving the people with full integrity, responsibility, and sincerity, so that her life may continue to honour God through her service to the nation.
The statement was issued at Court of Appeal 6, Putrajaya, on 13 January 2026.
