KUALA LUMPUR Oct 3, 2026 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim told the Youth Economic Forum (YEF) 2026 that young Malaysians are already part of the nation’s strength today, not merely leaders waiting in the wings, and urged them to reject race-baiting politics in favour of unity and dignity.
In a message shared on X, Anwar said he had never viewed youth only as “future leaders”, stressing that their courage, knowledge and ideas are helping to shape Malaysia now. He called on young people to refuse politics of division and racial sentiment, and instead to strengthen solidarity, uphold humanitarian values and build a fairer, more dignified country.
“I have never seen young people only as ‘future leaders’; they are part of the strength shaping Malaysia today, with the courage, knowledge and ideas they possess,” Anwar said in remarks linked to his YEF 2026 address.
He also welcomed YEF proposals aimed at elevating the standing and aspirations of youth, widening opportunities and improving living standards. Those ideas, he said, would be studied ahead of the Belanjawan MADANI presentation on 9 October 2026.
“Time is not merely waiting to be inherited — it is being shaped today. And young people must be at the front line to chart its course,” he added.
The remarks sit within the government’s MADANI framing of economic and social policy, with Anwar’s post tagged for Belanjawan 2027 and related MADANI themes. The forum has become a channel for youth economic proposals ahead of the budget cycle.
Life News Agency will continue to follow Belanjawan MADANI preparations and any follow-through on the YEF recommendations.
