SAKHIR, BAHRAIN, 2 October 2026 — Formula 1’s official account shared footage of three cars running abreast into Turn 1 during Friday running at the Bahrain Grand Prix, underscoring early-weekend wheel-to-wheel action at the Sakhir circuit.
The clip, posted by @F1 with the Bahrain GP hashtag, showed three-wide racing into the opening corner and noted that the scrap came on Friday — well before race day. Official coverage often uses such moments to illustrate how quickly free practice can turn competitive when the field is bunched under the floodlights.
Turn 1 at the Bahrain International Circuit is a classic heavy-braking zone where multiple cars can arrive together after the long start-finish straight. Three-abreast approaches there are rare in race conditions and rarer still in Friday practice, which made the clip a natural highlight for fans following the session online.
Teams use Friday running to evaluate car balance, tyre warm-up and traffic management ahead of qualifying and the race. Close multi-car moments in practice do not decide grid positions or race results, but they do show how aggressive drivers can be when track position and clean air are at a premium even in free practice.
The Bahrain Grand Prix weekend continues with remaining practice and qualifying still to come. Formula 1 did not name the three drivers in the Turn 1 post and did not present the footage as a session classification or race incident result.
Further updates from the Sakhir meeting are expected as teams complete their programmes and the focus shifts from practice highlights to competitive sessions.
