KOTA MASAI July 4, 2026 — Two large campaign billboards belonging to Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for DUN Tiram, Nor Zulaila, were vandalised in Kota Masai this morning.
The billboards, located in front of LOTUS along the main road and in front of PETRONAS on Jalan Nenas Utama, had a large letter “S” spray-painted across Nor Zulaila’s face in what appeared to be a deliberate act.
The vandalism was described as unethical and deserving of strong condemnation.
Nor Zulaila said she was deeply disappointed by the incident but urged all parties to campaign in a rational, courteous and respectful manner to build a healthy and mature political culture.
“Although there are those who choose to damage campaign billboards through acts of vandalism, there are still many who choose to uphold the values of politeness and respect,” she said.
She stressed that mature politics must be based on ideas, policies and service to the people, not hatred or destructive acts.
“When they act with hatred, we respond with dignity and decorum. When they go low, we go high,” she added, quoting the well-known phrase.
“I believe the people expect a political culture that is civilised, full of integrity and respect — not one filled with hostility and vandalism,” Nor Zulaila said.
She also reminded her own campaign team to stay focused on positive and dignified campaigning despite the provocation.
