SEREMBAN June 13, 2026 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) has officially kicked off its campaign machinery for the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election, with Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim leading the launch on Friday evening.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), DAP national chairman and Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo described the event as energetic and filled with a strong spirit of struggle. “The space for the people of Negeri Sembilan to choose the best for their state will soon open; the state election is not far away,” he posted.
Gobind emphasised PH’s unified vision: “Our vision in Pakatan Harapan is only one — a better Malaysia for all.” He called on party workers to mobilise at the grassroots level, highlighting a firm commitment to serve the people and expand Harapan’s influence in the state.
The Negeri Sembilan state assembly was dissolved on June 5, 2026, paving the way for snap polls. The Election Commission has set nomination day for July 18, early voting for July 28, and polling day for August 1, 2026.
PH, which currently governs Negeri Sembilan through a coalition with Barisan Nasional elements, aims to defend and strengthen its position in the 36-seat assembly. The coalition plans to contest all seats, building on its performance in the previous state election.
DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke, who is defending his Chennah seat, has said the party will retain most of its incumbents and support allies to secure a simple majority.
The snap election in Negeri Sembilan comes alongside Johor’s on July 11, serving as a key test for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s unity government ahead of the next general election.
PH leaders have urged supporters to work together under the banner of “Harapan” to deliver continued progress and stability for the people of Negeri Sembilan.
