PUTRAJAYA, 11 August 2026 – Datuk Wira Salhah binti Salleh has been appointed as the new Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri Melaka (State Secretary of Melaka), effective today.
The announcement was made in an official media statement issued by the Office of the Chief Secretary to the Government and signed by Tan Sri Shamsul Azri bin Abu Bakar, Ketua Setiausaha Negara.
Salhah, 53, is a career Administrative and Diplomatic Service officer who joined the service in 1998. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Development from Universiti Putra Malaysia and a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies from Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia.
She brings 28 years of experience in public administration, with extensive exposure in social and infrastructure management, economics and finance, human resource management, and operational development.
Her most recent post was as Pegawai Kewangan Negeri at the Melaka State Finance and Treasury Department. She previously served as Deputy State Secretary (Development) in the Melaka Chief Minister’s Office, and also held roles in the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department as well as the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (now the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development).
In the statement, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri expressed full confidence in her leadership and strategic capabilities.
“Based on her leadership, strategic capability and wide experience, I am confident that the development and administrative agenda of the Melaka State Government, as well as strategic cooperation with the Federal Government, will continue to be strengthened to ensure that every policy and initiative delivers direct benefits to the people, in line with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI,” he said.
The appointment takes effect from 11 August 2026.
