PUTRAJAYA, 1 July 2025 – The MADANI Government continues to strive for a balance between individual freedom and the need to maintain public order and safety, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
In a media statement today, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that every right guaranteed to citizens by the Constitution can be exercised in a peaceful, orderly, and responsible manner.
“The MADANI Government prioritizes the implementation of citizens’ rights with full responsibility to preserve harmony and collective safety,” he stated.
This statement was issued in relation to amendments to the Peaceful Assembly Act, aimed at strengthening the legal framework to ensure freedom of speech and assembly are conducted in an orderly and safe manner.
