TAWAU, SABAH, Malaysia – Kampung Inderasabah, strategically located near Malaysia’s maritime border with Indonesia, was officially designated as the Kampung Angkat MADANI for the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) today, with Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail leading the launch.

The selection of this village was deliberate, driven by its unique geographical, socio-economic, and developmental significance. Positioned in a critical border area, Kampung Inderasabah plays a vital role in national security and border control, making it an ideal candidate for the MADANI initiative, which aims to empower rural communities through direct, impactful engagement.
“This is more than a ceremonial launch—it’s about empowering the local community with comprehensive, meaningful initiatives,” Saifuddin said. “Kampung Inderasabah’s residents will benefit directly from various programs designed to enhance basic amenities, infrastructure, and community resilience.”

The minister commended ESSCOM’s proposal to adopt Kampung Inderasabah, noting that the initiative will not only upgrade local facilities but also foster greater community awareness of their role in safeguarding national security, harmony, and sovereignty, particularly in border regions.
Saifuddin expressed hope that the Kampung Angkat MADANI program would evolve beyond a short-term effort, serving as a catalyst for building a progressive, competitive, and security-conscious community.
“I envision this initiative sparking long-term transformation, creating a society that is resilient and vigilant,” he added.
The minister extended his gratitude to the residents of Kampung Inderasabah for their warm hospitality and to all stakeholders for their support in making the event a success.
